  • I used to cover for my supervisor all the time last. minute callouts, staying late, sometimes full double shifts, just tried to be helpful. one morning I clocked in at 9:01 instead of 9:00 she wrote me up,
  • no heads up, just straight to HR like i was some kind of problem. So next time she didn't show for her closing shift (which happened a lot), I
  • just...left at 5 told the manager that was my schedule time and went home. The place was chaos, phone rings, costumers waiting, no one to close she called later asking why I didn't stay, I
  • said "figured you'd want me to be on time" funny thing, she hasn't asked me to cover since.

  • Santa Barbara... People don't quit jobs, they quit bad bosses.
  • Silvaria928 Seriously. I used to work nights in assisted living and I had an absolutely horrible woman as my immediate supervisor, Joyce. She was a mean, vindictive, alc ic p.o.s. and the residents hated her, as did the staff. But the one thing she was very good at was kissing of the Executive Director.
  • After more than two years of putting up with this evil creature disguised as a human female, I finally put in my notice. The E.D. was not happy because it was very difficult to find someone to work nights, and she asked me if there was anything that she could do to convince me to stay. I said simply, "Fire Joyce."
  • The E.D. looked shocked and asked why, and I said that if she didn't already know why based on the massive number of complaints, then nothing I could say was going to convince her. Joyce will always be the worst manager that I ever had the misfortune of working with.
  • Yetan555 Reminds me of when I was working at a mill. They called in a panel operator to cover a shift on there day off. Something happened during the shift and they wrote him up. He never
  • covered another shift while I worked there, and we didn't have a lot of panel operators to spare.
  • Panuas What do these managers have in their heads??
  • Black-Mettle I was insanely helpful to my manager. I would help other departments, stay late, I changed shifts to come in earlier to accommodate the workflow, and I never complained to him about sh.
  • After 3 years I'm ready to swap departments for a change of pace. I put in my request and the VERY NEXT DAY he gives me 6 write-ups in a row which puts me on notice and halts my transfer for SIX MONTHS. I put it in again after the 6 months and I get 6 more write-ups.
  • They were all lunch related, like not clocking out for lunch or taking too long on my lunches, which is weird because I always put my time in on the minute since I have alarms set specifically for my lunch breaks and I never break those.
  • The first time I figured it was just a bunch of mistakes with the punch machine and bite the bullet because arguing the process is mind numbing. awful and
  • After the 2nd time I go to check my clock logs and see several edits done the day I put in my request. So I stopped everything. Whenever he would ask me to help another department I refused, when he needed me to stay late I refused, and I started making
  • regular complaints about the other shifts not pulling their weight. Well my last 6 months was up last week and I put in another transfer request and no write-ups.
